Tab Launcher overview

The idea of TabLauncher is not to replace the system's dock, but to help keep it clean, with only the applications that are currently running. By removing all the application from the dock and organizing them on tabs, you can quickly find and run any application you want.

Apart from that, you can create as many tabs as you like, and personalize them by setting the background color, title color, and font. Just drag your favorite applications to your tabs and it's done! You can also rearrange the tabs by dragging them. And even rearrange the whole TabLauncher. Just drag it where ever you like along the sides or the bottom of the screen.

Now it takes less than 2 seconds to find and launch any app. (It's true, according to our statistics)

There is now a 3.xx version and it is SO much more, fully supported. Weblink above is correct. Since the DragThing guy turned his back on us I have tried pretty much every similar launcher, paid for too many of them, and used Tab Launcher for much of the time but one specific feature simply didn’t work the way I wanted. With this latest v3 it now does everything I need and how I need - and then some. It is easily the most fullfullfeaturedution, options out the wazoo, many new to this latest version (multiple rows on a tab!). All for a ridiculously low price. And it is super easy on RAM. More, in my experience support has been excellent. After painstaking setup I am practically finished and I must say I am even more happy. I have eight stand-alone Tabs using all four sides of my laptop’s screen, all totally hidden. All only appear when I want (option to appear only when clicked) thus not interfering with the Dock or Menu Bar. Six of them have multiple rows/columns. I am still playing with how they look as there are so many options for shape, size, color, & fonts.

One key feature missing is the ability to add content INTO a folder in a Tab Launcher tab. With one tab group set up w/folders I want to click the folder to quickly open (that works,) AND the ability to drag files ONTO the folder which would move the file to that folder. Currently adding content to the doc in any way actually adds to the dock itself. :( Add the ability to drag content INTO a folder that is on a Tab Launcher tab and then we have a solid app. UI polish can happen over time and not as critical.

Would be great if folders' content would show right away at the first level.. not as a submenu, without all the menu options like 'rename icon' etc etc.. which take space and are rarely needed to be used IMO, those are settings and should be much less invasive... and if it supported subfolders hierarchies and previews. In the past... way back... we had tools like FinderPop and FolderGlance which were much smarter navigation tools.
